Wedding & Social Catering Sales Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Create memorable wedding and social catering events. Responsible for proactive sales, and solicitation of wedding and social catering related opportunities with significant revenue potential.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

-Focus on wedding and social catering accounts.
-Designs, develops and sells creative & memorable weddings and social catering events.
-Actively up-sell each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity.
-Identifies, qualifies and solicits new catering business to achieve personal, team, and property revenue goals.
-Handle inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
-Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections and off-site presentations for potential clients.
-Understands the overall market – competition, economic trends, and supply and demand.
-Closes the best opportunities for the property based on market conditions and property needs.
-Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
-Responsible for driving customer/guest loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer/guest experience.
-Provides service to customers in order to grow the account on behalf of the company.
-Develops effective social catering sales plans and actions.
-Produce monthly sales-related reports and forecasts.
-Assures an environment which emphasizes cooperation, communication and teamwork with all departments.
-Performs additional duties as outlined by Director of Sales
-Assists on special projects as required.
-Professional and ethical behavior in dealing with clients and fellow staff members.
-Participates in Sales Lobby program.
-Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day.
-Conduct pre and post event evaluations and report outcome.
-Develop relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for catering sales opportunities.
-Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to the property.
-Uses sales resources and administrative/support staff.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
-Uses internet for resources and information
-Creates contracts as required
-Creates BEOs (Banquet Event Orders)
-Utilize efficiently account management details
-Update all sales activities (sales appointments, site visits, prospecting calls, client events) in Delphi

REQUIREMENTS
-Minimum of 2 Years in Hotel Wedding/Social Catering Sales
-Delphi experience preferred
-Willing to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
-Have working knowledge of event room tables setups, table configurations, staging, and dance flooring.
-Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
-Oral Comprehension – Demonstrates ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
-Reading Comprehension – Demonstrates understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
